Your Better Future

As I progress my career as a futurist I want to give back. Thanks to the client KPU for filming this full-length speech delivered at a public event in Vancouver March 1, 2025. The atmosphere was charged, as President Trump had just announced aggressive tariffs while calling for Canada to be the 51st state. This event was filmed by two automated video cameras, so apologies for the small viewing window of my delivery versus the slides, but I stand by the content and believe it can help make your future better.
YOUR BETTER FUTURE
Overcoming dark nights of crazy change
We’ve entered the Innovation Age where maximum change causes stress that divides us.
Jim focuses on the web of needs that unite us. All change is both good and bad, and Jim has learned over thirty years as a futurist working across sectors that there are ways to overcome divergent views by focusing on stakeholder needs. Often hidden, differing need priorities drive all behaviours, attitudes and conflict. When Jim facilitates planning, he aims to help clients create Better Benefit goals, the key to motivation, efficiency and bridge building. Not only do Better Benefits deliver lasting collective and individual success, Jim suggests that this quest is the key to greater happiness.
Jim Bottomley has consulted governments, businesses, nonprofits and individuals to help them find future direction, identify opportunities and cope with the stress of change. Jim`s sessions are always fun and dynamic. He combines aha moments with practical advice to inspire positive change and improve leadership, combining stories from a year backpacking around the world, lessons working across sectors, to revelations from within his own startups. As a professional speaker, Jim has spoken to over one quarter million Canadians about future success strategies.
